This research explores the impact of media convergence on media consumption habits and audience behavior. As various media platforms and technologies merge, this convergence transforms how audiences engage with content. The study investigates the implications of this blend on audience fragmentation and integration, revealing a dual effect where viewers are both scattered across diverse platforms and brought together through shared experiences. It examines how perceptions and attitudes toward content evolve in this context, emphasizing the role of cognitive processes in shaping media choices. Additionally, the research highlights how media convergence influences social dynamics and identity construction, reshaping interactions among audiences. Findings indicate that while media convergence can fragment audiences by creating niche markets, it also fosters integration through common interests and shared narratives. Furthermore, it enhances content perception, significantly affecting how individuals relate to media and to each other. Ultimately, this study provides valuable insights into the complexities of audience behavior in a rapidly converging media landscape, underscoring the importance of understanding these trends for future media strategies and communications.

The main aim of the study was to find out how educators are empowered to implement safety measures in selected public high schools in the Alfred Nzo East Education District, Eastern Cape, South Africa. The study was motivated by multiple media reports about incidents that threatened the safety of learners especially in rural public schools and how educators are empowered to deal with such incidents. This case study was grounded on qualitative research principles. The study was theoretically guided by the principles of the Street-Level Bureaucracy (SLB) and Rational Decision-Making Model. The data was collected from three public high schools in the Alfred Nzo East Education District, Eastern Cape. A purposive sampling technique was utilized to choose the research participants. A total of four educators and one principal were involved in semi-structured interviews. Interviews were supplemented with short observations and document analysis. The findings of the research include the following: the measures are not implemented properly. The piloted school had no school-based safety policies which can serve as a guide for educators in ensuring. It was also established that educators are not empowered to implement safety policies. The researcher recommended that there should be empowerment programmes on school safety management on continuous basis for all the in-service educators twice a year. The researcher further proposed that the training programmes that are provided by institutions of higher learning for pre-service teachers must have multiple law-related modules to provide insight to the novice educators.

The persistent low academic performance of secondary school students in accounting has remained a major concern in Nigerian education, particularly in urban centers such as Aba Metropolis, Abia State. Peer tutoring has been identified as a potential strategy to enhance learning outcomes by promoting collaborative learning, motivation, and engagement among students. This study investigated the influence of peer tutoring on academic achievement in accounting among SS1 students in Aba Metropolis, with specific focus on the sub-variables of students’ motivation, communication skills, and teacher supervision and guidance. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design, and the population comprised all SS1 accounting students in selected public and private secondary schools within the metropolis. A sample of 200 students was drawn using multistage sampling techniques. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire titled Peer Tutoring and Academic Achievement Questionnaire (PTAAQ), validated by experts in Educational Psychology and Accounting, and reliability was confirmed using Cronbach’s alpha (0.83). Data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions and Multiple Regression Analysis to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that students’ motivation, communication skills, and teacher supervision and guidance each had significant positive influence on students’ academic achievement in accounting. The study concluded that peer tutoring is an effective instructional strategy capable of improving students’ understanding and performance in accounting when properly structured and supervised. The study recommends that teachers actively supervise peer tutoring sessions, encourage student motivation, and foster effective communication among peers. Additionally, school administrators should institutionalize peer tutoring programs to enhance academic outcomes in accounting and other challenging subjects. The findings of this study provide practical insights for educators, policymakers, and researchers interested in improving secondary school students’ academic performance through collaborative learning strategies.

Biodiversity conservation is critical for maintaining ecosystem integrity in species-rich regions like North-East India (NEI), a key part of the Indo-Burma biodiversity hotspot. NEI supports a diverse assemblage of 269 mammal species, including 48 threatened and 13 endemic species, yet faces escalating habitat loss and fragmentation from anthropogenic pressures. This study presents a novel framework for identifying spatial conservation priorities and ecological refuges specifically within the Mizo and Cachar Hills, which retain critical interior forest patches indispensable for arboreal and range-restricted fauna. Utilizing Area of Habitat (AOH) data for 240 species, we integrated functional richness with a Regional Conservation Priority Index (RCPI) that weights IUCN threat status, regional endemism, and range restriction. Our analysis separately evaluates large-bodied (>10 kg) and small-bodied (≤10 kg) mammals to ensure top-down and bottom-up ecological processes are preserved. Using Morphological Spatial Pattern Analysis (MSPA), we identified intact core habitat zones characterized by stable environmental conditions insulated from edge effects. A composite Conservation Score Map (CSM) identifies eight landscapes for large mammals and four for small mammals as high-priority zones. Results indicate that over 30% of NEI’s land is of high conservation value, yet nearly 90% of these priority zones lie outside the existing Protected Area (PA) network. This data-driven approach supports evidence-based policymaking and aligns with global targets, such as the Kunming–Montreal Framework’s 30 × 30 goal, by providing a scientific basis for expanding PAs and communitymanaged conservation areas.

Contemporary Indian diasporic literature frequently explores the complex relationship between memory, trauma, and identity. Among the prominent voices in this literary tradition, Bharati Mukherjee occupies a distinctive place for her nuanced portrayal of immigrant experiences and the psychological transformation of individuals navigating between cultures. Her works examine how personal memories and collective histories shape identity formation, especially in the context of displacement, migration, and cultural negotiation. This paper investigates the themes of memory, trauma, and the quest for identity in Mukherjee’s major novels and short stories, particularly Jasmine, The Tiger's Daughter, Desirable Daughters, and The Middleman and Other Stories. The study argues that Mukherjee presents trauma not merely as a source of suffering but also as a catalyst for transformation and reinvention. Through fragmented memories and experiences of cultural dislocation, her characters engage in a continuous search for belonging and self-definition. The paper also examines how Mukherjee’s narratives reflect the larger realities of postcolonial migration and diasporic identity formation. By exploring the interplay between personal memory, cultural trauma, and identity reconstruction, this study highlights Mukherjee’s contribution to contemporary Indian and diasporic literature. The analysis demonstrates that memory serves as both a burden and a resource, enabling characters to confront trauma and reconstruct their identities within new cultural landscapes.

The emergence of queer voices in modern literature marks a significant shift in the representation of gender and sexuality within literary discourse. For centuries, literary traditions were dominated by heteronormative narratives that marginalized or silenced non-heterosexual identities. However, the rise of queer theory and LGBTQ+ activism in the late twentieth century challenged these dominant frameworks and encouraged writers to explore diverse expressions of identity and desire. Modern literature increasingly reflects the experiences of individuals who exist outside traditional gender and sexual norms, giving voice to communities that were historically excluded from mainstream cultural representation. This research paper examines how queer voices in modern literature articulate the politics of identity, resistance, and self-representation. It explores how literary texts challenge heteronormative structures and reveal the social and cultural struggles associated with queer identity formation. The study discusses the theoretical contributions of scholars such as Judith Butler and Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick while analyzing literary works by writers such as James Baldwin, Oscar Wilde, and Ruth Vanita. The paper argues that modern queer literature not only represents marginalized identities but also challenges rigid definitions of gender and sexuality by foregrounding fluidity, diversity, and self-expression. Ultimately, the study demonstrates that queer voices in modern literature play a crucial role in reshaping cultural narratives and promoting a more inclusive understanding of identity.
