Abstract:
This study aims to examine the workforce performances and workplace
management strategies of employees who have been diagnosed at the early stage of Alzheimer's
disease. Neurodegenerative diseases, especially Alzheimer's disease, can affect the efficiency of
the employees in the workplace by causing decline in cognitive, motor and emotional functions.
Early diagnosis is critical to manage these effects on labor force. Suitable management
strategies for individuals with early stage Alzheimer's disease can help maintain performance at
work and contribute to organizational sustainability. In this context, strategies such as flexible
working hours, task changes and supportive training programs can be applied with early
diagnosis. The study emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease both
individually and organizational. It also reveals the necessity of employers and managers to take
appropriate supportive measures for employees with Alzheimer's disease in order to manage the
effects on the labor force.
